The Boy Likes Rugby

Chris –
We received a call from AJ this morning (3:30am). A few highlights:
- he enjoyed the time at the Fiji school. They played rugby. He LIKES Rugby . There was one Fijian schoolboy they nicknamed the “Fijian torpedo” – he comes out of nowhere and hits hard.
- He mentioned they were delayed leaving Fiji . I didn’t have the heart to tell him we were monitoring the blog and knew about it a full day before it happened… or whatever.
- One of the boys put a banana in Auggie’s backpack during the trip from Fiji to NZ. It’s illegal to transport fruit from Fiji to NZ. The NZ customs dogs were all over Auggie. They had to do some fast talking to avoid a $200 fine.
- He was with his host family and seemed very comfortable.
- He was generally getting enough sleep, and generally getting enough food that he liked. I expect the really good stories will start a week or so after he returns.

Poor Auggie...poor Auggie's parents! For all of us with boys...a small sigh of relief that the infraction was a mere banana. I immediately had thoughts of a really cool Fijian Ceremonia Sword. Did anyone else have the same thought?

Love the stories...keep them coming.

Jon liked being A.J.'s roommate. He thought they worked well with each other. But also Jon really likes bananas. Shouldn't have brought that up! Cole

I don't get the Fijian Ceremonia Sword thing? Please explain. It must be info you got from your child who has called or emailed you. Please fill us less fortunate parents in ...

This picture that was placed with this post really makes me cringe! The knee looks horrible!!! Let's hope that our kids didn't get hit that way :0) !!

Sounds like there has been some fun happening.....we still wouldn't know it! Maddy has made no contact yet! Hope all is well with her!?

Take care!
